How to choose high quality bluetooth earphone?

2021-1-27 16:57:15

Earphones are becoming more and more popular. Every day, you don’t leave your body and listen to many pairs of earphones. Next, we, Sinodec Industrial Co., Ltd., a Chinese mobile phone accessories manufacturer established in 2003, will introduce you to Bluetooth earphones.  Know how.

In the face of numerous headset brands and styles, how to choose the most suitable Bluetooth headset?  Which tws Bluetooth headset best fits your usage habits?  How to choose the most satisfactory one in your budget?  I believe this article can give you some suggestions on the choice.

Bluetooth headsets are mainly divided into three categories, true wireless, neck-mounted and headphone.  Among them, true wireless is the most convenient, and it is also the most popular now. You can see true wireless headsets in various formats hanging on your ears on the streets and alleys.  True wireless headset, also called tws headset, is the abbreviation of True Wireless Stereo in English.

To explain in the most straightforward terms, it is a headset with no wires at all, and the two headsets can work independently.

True wireless headsets are so popular that they cannot do without the power of technology. With the advancement of Bluetooth version and other technologies, the stability, sound quality, and delay of true wireless headsets have been greatly improved. High convenience is no longer its only advantage.  .  The following briefly talk about the advantages and disadvantages:

Advantages: small size, light weight, simple and easy to carry, wireless design improves the stethoscope effect, and has a better experience in sports and travel.

Disadvantages: Latency is still an inevitable problem with Bluetooth headsets, but I believe that as technology advances, our experience will continue to improve.  The other is the opposite of high portability-easy to lose, this can only be done by the judges paying more attention in use (but there are also some earphones that have developed an anti-lost mode that can be located and retrieved).

A higher transmission protocol theoretically means less loss during data transmission, and more music details can be retained, so the sound quality will be better.  But in fact, it will not strictly comply with it for various other reasons. Don't blindly pursue a high transmission protocol.

In addition, for Apple users, if you choose a headset that is not your own, you need to pay attention to choosing a headset that supports AAC mode.  Because some earphones support APTX and SBC modes, but the Mac does not support APTX, it is directly reduced to SBC, the difference is quite a lot.

Many TWS Bluetooth headsets now use Bluetooth 5.0, and now 5.1 and 5.2 versions are slowly appearing, both of which are downward compatible.  Compared with its previous generation Bluetooth 4.2, Bluetooth 5.0 has the overall advantage of better performance in all aspects, such as lower power consumption, higher connection stability, longer transmission distance and so on.

When choosing a headset, try to choose a headset with a higher Bluetooth version, which will have a more stable experience.

The noise reduction function is very important to the function of the earphone. One is to reduce the influence of external noise. The earphone can hear clearly without increasing the volume, thereby reducing the damage to the eardrum.  The second is to filter noise to improve sound quality and call quality.  Noise reduction is divided into active noise reduction and passive noise reduction (physical noise reduction).  Passive noise reduction mainly uses the fitting of the earplug cap and the ear to prevent noise from being transmitted to the ear.  Here we mainly explain the active noise reduction.

The noise reduction technologies such as ANC, ENC, CVC, DSP, etc., are the main features of the business when promoting the noise reduction function of headphones.  Here is a brief explanation.

ANC noise reduction technology is the active noise reduction that we have seen in the earphones. It is mainly aimed at low-frequency noise, such as air-conditioning fans, subways, and cars.  Earphones that support active noise reduction can allow us to obtain a unique quiet space in the continuous roar of low-frequency noise, and play songs without too much volume, which can better protect the eardrum.  But it is generally more expensive, and only mid-to-high-end headphones will be configured.  There is also DSP noise reduction technology, and ANC noise reduction are both active noise reduction, mainly for high and low frequency noise.  The other two CVC noise reduction technologies and ENC noise reduction technologies are both applied to call noise reduction. The direct experience is to remove or reduce various interference noises in the environment, and the human voice will be clearer, so that the other party can be more clear  Hearing our voices is conducive to the transmission of information.

Next, let's talk about the transparent mode, that is, the ambient sound mode, which is to enable the enhancement of human voice while ensuring the effect of low-frequency noise reduction.  When communicating with people face-to-face, you can switch to the ambient sound mode to communicate smoothly without taking off the headset.  A well-made headset can realize that when the transparent mode is turned on, although the outside sound is put in, but it is selectively put in, the sound you hear will be softer and more comfortable.

Personally think this function is quite good, especially for true wireless headphones.  Sometimes we don’t have a place to put the earphones off, and it’s easy to lose them. But with earphones with this function, we don’t have to worry about this problem. After all, it is really troublesome to put on and remove them.

The unit refers to the sound unit of the moving iron earphone. The more units, the more units that can be equipped in each frequency band, and the better the sound quality.  Commonly used in earphones are moving coil units and moving iron units.

For the moving coil unit, the diameter of the sounding unit is linked to the sound quality. To a certain extent, the earphones of the big sounding unit have a wider frequency response, but also have a heavier weight.  However, the unit size is not the main factor that determines the sound quality.  For moving iron units, the more units, the better the sound performance.

When buying headphones, I often hear a term-stethoscope effect.  The stethoscope effect is common in in-ear headphones. When the earplug cord or unit is impacted by external impact or air friction, the friction sound generated by the vibration is directly transmitted to the ear canal through the earplug cord, which is called the stethoscope effect.

In the past wired earphones, it is inconvenient to unwrap the twisted wire every time it is used. When moving, the wire collides or air friction can easily cause the stethoscope effect. The emergence of TWS Bluetooth earphones has improved this problem.  But the stethoscope effect is still an inevitable problem for in-ear headphones. Here is a small suggestion. Try to replace shoes with softer soles. Maybe this situation can be improved a lot.

The format is IPXX, the first X stands for dust resistance, and the second X stands for water resistance. The larger the number, the higher its protective performance.  The waterproof level of general true wireless earphones is IPX4 to IPX5. This level of waterproof and dustproof ability can cope with daily use.  If you have sports needs, you can pursue IPX5, if you want to use headphones while swimming, it is safer to pursue IPX8.

Generally, the single battery life of a true wireless headset is within 10 hours, and the total battery life of the charging compartment can generally reach 15-30 hours. According to the use time of 4 hours a day, the strong battery life can be used for a week.  Now more headphones use the Type-C charging port that supports both front and back dual insertion, which is really much more convenient. There are also some headphones that support wireless charging. For lazy cancer patients like me, you can consider it.

A headset is not only for us to enjoy music, it can bring some convenience to our work, life, and entertainment.  Therefore, it is recommended to consider the above purchase and use scenarios, and choose a pair of headphones that can not only let you feel the charm of music, but also greatly facilitate your use and fit your habits.
