The mobile phone has been developed for decades, and the charging interface on the mobile phone has changed from the previous single charging function to the mobile phone to transfer data, charging, and even the earphones have been plugged into the charging interface. The current mobile phone interface mainly includes the iPhone’s lightning interface, the Android phone’s Micro-USB and the Type-C interface. Why don’t Android phones use the Type-C interface?

There is also a significant increase in data transmission speed of Type-C. It is said that the maximum transmission rate can reach 10Gbps, which is more than ten times faster than that of Micro-USB.
 
Type-C also has some problems
 
Although Type-C is better in performance, it also has its own problems. The first is that Type-C is not popular enough. At present, most of the Type-C interfaces are flagship mobile phones, while mobile phone sales are mainly in the high-end and thousand-yuan machines. Micro-USB is still the main force. Another point is that although Type-C is very strong, most of the current mobile phones use Type-C at the original USB 2.0 level. Although backward compatible, some are not worth the candle.
 
Why is Type-C not popular?

The promotion of Type-C is slower, and there are fewer people. The manufacturers are more willing to use the already mature Micro-USB. However, when the performance requirements of mobile phones are getting higher and higher, the better quality Type-C should gradually replace Micro-USB, which also requires various manufacturers to promote Type-C, such as the current high sales. USB TYPE-A

This interface is the most common and familiar to everyone. Everyone’s current computer is compatible with this interface, including the mouse and USB flash drive are also TYPE-A interface. Now USB TYPE A has evolved to the standard of USB 3.0. The interface of USB3.0 is 8 times faster than USB2.0. However, most TYPE A or USB 2.0 standards are currently available in the market. USB type-c

These photos of an 18-watt Apple USB-C charger may herald fast charging coming to iPhones without people having to resort to buying third-party adapters.

Photos of an adapter labeled “engineering sample” surfaced this weekend on sinodec.com, as spotted by Macotakara, and were reportedly taken by someone in Apple’s supply chain.

One of the photos provides an (almost unreadable) close-up of the specs printed on it, which are model A1720; 100-240V, 50/60Hz 0.45A and output 5V/3A, 9V/2A. From that, the site calculated the 18-watt output.

Why’s everyone so excited? Despite supporting USB-C in its MacBook line, Apple has clung to its Lightning connector for its iPhone and iPad lines. And Apple still ships those with low-powered chargers that don’t support fast charging.

If you’ve had Apple products since the early days of the iPod, you’re probably used to hoarding cables and then having to just put them in a box in the back of your closet every time you get a new device.

First there was FireWire, then Apple’s 30-pin connector, and most recently, its Lighting cable, found on current iPhones and iPads. A new report from 9to5Mac suggests that the next iPhones may come with a new type of connection.

Photos have emerged of what appears to be an Apple charging brick (the square hunk of plastic that actually plugs into the outlet) that has a USB-C connection. That’s the same type of connector now found on Apple’s laptops, and can send and receive far more power and data than a traditional USB cables. (They’re also a lot easier to plug in.)

What’s not clear from the photos is whether the cable that would plug into the iPhones would have a Lightning connector at the other end (which Apple currently sells to charge iPhones from a new Mac laptop), or if it would be USB-C at both ends. The former would not have much impact on people who already own a bunch of iPhone cables, as they could keep using the old ones to charge the new phones. But the latter would mean buying new cables all over again. A USB-C cable would allow the next-generation iPhones to charge far more quickly than current models, as many Android devices have been able to do for the last few years. (The iPhone X has this ability too, but you need to buy a USB-C cable and an iPad charging brick to make use of it.)

Although manufacturers are increasingly adopting USB-C for devices ranging from drones to digital cameras, keyboards and smartphones, consumers deep into the Apple ecosystem are unlikely to have many of them lying around, unless they own a newer Mac.
